University of Los Lagos is an institution of state, autonomous and regional character, which serves the community since August 30, 1993, when it was created by law 19,238, under the government of the President of the Republic Patricio Aylwin Azócar. The University of Los Lagos has as its mission the scientific, professional and technical training of people, with solid knowledge, pluralistic and committed to their environment. As a University, it develops basic scientific research and knowledge-based innovations, in strategic areas where it has competitive advantages. It is a state and regional university that seeks to be a contribution in its environment, through the dissemination of arts, culture and scientific knowledge.
