SANDIA NATIONAL LABORATORIES

Sandia is a conducts research and development into the non-nuclear components of nuclear weapons. Sandia’s mission is to maintain the reliability of the nuclear weapon systems of the United States of America. It also conducts research and development in arms control and non-proliferation technologies, and investigates methods for the disposal of hazardous waste generated from the production of nuclear weapons. Sandia National Laboratories is operated and managed by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, with its headquarters at Albuquerque, New Mexico.
