HAVERHILL FIRE DEPARTMENT CREDIT UNION
The Haverhill Fire Department Credit Union was chartered on August 5, 1933, for the exclusive use of Haverhill firefighters and their families. The Essex Street Fire Station was the first location for the first office. The credit union had 91 members and $3,515.08 in assets after one year of operation in August of 1934. In 1950, the credit union had assets of nearly $41,000. The office was moved to the Water Street fire station in July 1962, and the assets had grown to $170,000 by 1963.
