Hashstack's Open protocol encourages productive lending. Productive lending is when the money is borrowed to boost personal finances. When Hashstack lends, it assumes that the borrowers use the funds productively to earn a profit so that they can repay the protocol while keeping some extra earnings to themselves. An outstanding loan is an asset for Hashstack & its depositors, while a liability (debt) to the borrower.
