Funkyflick is a recommender system for movies powered by the ability to extract concepts and themes from English text. Recommendations based on Wikipedia are possible because entries are organized in the manner of an encyclopedia and are peer reviewed. This allows a program to extract a large amount accurate and targeted data to compare with written descriptions of desired products. It requires no knowledge of a customer buying habits. It is also different from Content based filtering because no taxonomy of the targeted products is needed.
