With one ground station at higher latitudes the satellite pass lasts only an average of 10 minutes after every 1.5 hours and a 10 hour break during night in case of polar orbit. Having even one extra ground station in another geographical location would double the amount of downloaded data. Crowdsourced network could have dozens or even hundreds of receivers which will cover the whole World.
