Alabama Gas Corporation, Alagasco, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is the largest natural gas utility in north and central Alabama that provides energy to 420,000 homes and businesses. Its history dates back more than 160 years. It has operating divisions in Anniston, Birmingham, Gadsden, Montgomery, Opelika, Selma, and Tuscaloosa. Alagasco is one of the two operating units of Energen Corporation, a diversified energy company also headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
