The site was launched in 1995 as CheatHouse.com & created a lot of media attention due to the controversial nature of the name. In 2008 the board of directors formed by Jens Schriver & Maximo Migliari concluded the controversial name of the website had to be dropped in favor of a name with more long term growth potential. The name was changed to WriteWork.com. WriteWork.com has over 350,000 customers, 115,000+ items on its essay library and over 1 million unique visitors a month in traffic ranking mainly from english speaking countries.
