What Now?! is an innovative new app that simulates a “live” smartphone experience whilst abroad – without paying for roaming. Launching shortly as THE OFFICIAL LONDON TOURIST APP in partnership with VisitLondon, the official tourism board and part of the Mayor of London’s office. Also shortlisted for the UK’s Most Innovative Mobile Company as part of the UK government’s department of Trade and Investment’s Smart UK initiative. By users planning their immediate next steps when they have Wi-Fi (e.g. in the morning for the upcoming day), the app is able to download relevant “pockets” of information from existing review, map and transport sources into a personalised file that simulates a “live” smart mobile experience when the user is then out exploring their new destination. With the rise in smart mobile ownership alongside the growth in Airbnb services (and their clones), increasing numbers of travellers are staying in places where they don’t have access to traditional hotel concierges, but do still require help in finding and booking the best local activities.
