Water for Good provides hand pump maintenance services in central Africa, working collaboratively with the community to conduct standardized performance checks and make minor repairs on the pumps. The process provides communities with sustainable access to clean water, transformational sanitation principles, and improved agricultural resources. Water for Good serves communities in the Central African Republic (CAR) who rely on water pumps as their main source of clean, safe drinking water and... can benefit from improved functionality and maintenance of their pumps. The company currently services over 950 water pumps, impacting roughly 500,000 people. There are an additional 2.7 million people in CAR who could benefit from Water for Good?s services through local NGOs or community well committees. In Sub-Saharan Africa, an estimated $1 billion dollars worth of investment in rural water hand pumps has gone to waste due to broken pumps. Water for Good teams conduct standardized performance checks, replace worn parts, make minor repairs and monitor the hand pumps.
