Vvital Biomed develops a new concept and technology for transcatheter mitral valve repair posterior leaflet repair solution - the VLR system. The VLR system is delivered in a transseptal approach and repairs the valve by positioning and attaching a unique flexible implant on top of the damaged leaflet (the posterior side), while leaving the healthy leaflet (the anterior side), to continue to provide effective valve functions. Vvital’s novel solution is suitable for 95% of MR patients, minimal trauma to the native valve, highly stable, performed with fully beating heart (versus other approaches that require momentary heart arrest during implantation), and built-in annuloplasty effect. Vvital Biomed was founded by Aram Smolinsky in 2016.
