Visant Medical develops a patented and proprietary approach to dry eye treatment. Visant Medical has exclusive rights to issued patents on the technology. The logic behind blocking the outflow of tears with plugs is fundamentally sound, as it promotes the retention of the patient’s own tear film to lubricate the eyes, rather than using artificial tears, which lack the vital components of natural tears. Unfortunately, all of the current methods of blocking the tear ducts have a number of inherent problems. The Visant Medical product addresses virtually all of these problems. The company was founded in 2017 and is based in Menlo Park, California.
