We are a Medtech company with a unique value proposition of reduction of unplanned hospitalization and mortality risk for acute heart failure (HF) patients. The most common cause of HF is Coronary Artery Disease(CAD), which is increasing in both prevalence and occurrence. It is associated with significant number of mortality and morbidity, affecting >10 million Indians per year. We are going to address the mortality rates arising from HF patients that are at home, post-discharge from hospital after undergoing various medical interventions such as angioplasty, bypass, cardiac catheterization etc. The most important metric of HF mortality is the number of readmissions after first hospitalization. Therefore, if we are able to detect early signs of HF deterioration, we may prevent serious crisis e.g. likelihood of unplanned hospitalization. HF is associated with worsening hemodynamics, and increase in vascular resistance & pulmonary congestion. Therefore, change in pulmonary artery pressure, and vascular resistance, are observed in days and weeks prior to decompensation. Our product is the first and only patient vital and hemodynamic monitoring patent-pending wearable, that investigates if adverse HF events can be identified prior to occurrence through non-invasive monitoring.
