SWISS FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
The Swiss Football Association (SFV) is the umbrella organization of national football. It was founded in 1895 and in 1904 belonged to the seven state associations that created the world governing body FIFA. Today the SFV is one of the most important sports federations in the country. The SFV is divided into three sections and counts 1,389 clubs, 14,206 teams and 273,644 licensed players. The seat of the association is the House of Swiss Football in Muri, since June 13, 2009 the central president is Peter Gilliéron.
