SurgiVance Inc. is developing a confocal microscopy -based imager that produces rapid, high-resolution, digitally-colored images of biopsied tissue specimens. It is designed to supplant hematoxilin and eosin (H&E) staining – a labor-intensive, almost universal process considered the gold-standard for tissue preparation in advance of examination by a pathologist under a standard light-field microscope. The SurgiVance product is engineered to be smaller, simpler, lower-cost, and more broadly useful than competing products. Our initial target market will be Mohs surgery practices, where skin cancers are excised in multiple stages.More
