Softcover lets authors take advantage of the proven production system and business model used by the Ruby on Rails Tutorial, including selling ebooks, multimedia premiums, and the option to make a free online version available to users. The Softcover ebook production system is available as open-source software, so authors aren’t locked in to a proprietary system. Using that tool-chain, authors can build multi-format ebooks (HTML, EPUB, MOBI, and PDF) from common source files and upload them to Softcover’s integrated sales platform.
