WDM stands for “Wavelength Division Multiplexing”, Coarse or Dense depending on the amount of data. CWDM allows up to 18 traffic channels, DWDM allows up to 80 with capability of longer distances. It’s a technology that increases bandwidth by sending different data streams at different frequencies over a single dark fiber network.
