Service Steel Aerospace (SSA) was founded in 1976 in Tacoma, Washington. The company was established as a specialty metals distributor for the aerospace industry. In 1982, SSA expanded their warehouse operations into southern California. In 1988, SSA expanded into Akron, Ohio strategically placing their facility close to both their customer base and the mills.
