SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL HORTICULTURE
The School of Professional Horticulture is a division of the Botanical Gardens in New York City, and offers individual courses in Horticulture and related fields. The school also offers advanced degrees in conjunction with some of New Yorkโs most prestigious universities. Programs of study encompass both traditional and innovative areas of study. The schoolโs Adult Education division offers academics in such traditional and cutting-edge fields as: * Botany * Botanical Art * Floral ... Design * Garden Writing * Horticultural Therapy * Horticulture * Landscape Design The School of Professional Horticulture also awards a bachelorโs and a doctoral degree in Horticulture Studies. The graduate program operates in collaboration with such schools as: * Columbia University * Cornell University * New York University * Yale University Students also have the opportunity to participate in research at one of the schoolโs research facilities. Research areas include Genomics and Structural Botany. Anyone may enroll for an adult education class. However, admissions to the schoolโs degree programs are competitive. Applicants must provide documentation of at least 1,800 hours of horticultural work and submit an application, transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and evidence of a physical exam. All applicants must also interview with an admissions representative. The school offers federal financial aid, including Pell grants and loans. To apply for these applicants must submit a FAFSA and proof of income. The school also participates in veteranโs benefits.
