The Savings Institute was incorporated as a financial institution by an act of the Connecticut legislature in 1842 under the name Willimantic Savings Institute. It now operates under the name Savings Institute Bank & Trust Company. The Bank offers a full range of financial services to individuals, businesses and municipalities through its eastern CT and southern RI offices. The primary product offerings include savings, checking and deposit accounts, certificates of deposit, residential and c... ommercial mortgage loans, commercial business loans and consumer loans. Additionally, wealth management services, which include trust, financial planning, investment services* and life insurance*, are offered to individuals and businesses through its Connecticut and Rhode Island offices.
