Salt-water sandals date back to and are a modern American classic. During WWII, Walter Hoy fashioned the first pair for his daughter out of scrap leather from his military boot factory's floor. Soon after, the entire town was coming to his door, so he shifted from creating boots to making children's sandals in his spare time. Salt-water sandals are now available in adult sizes, a choice of colors, and fine-finished leathers, making them perfect for swimming and getting wet.
