Runbook, a Europe-based provider of financial close and automation solutions to the SAP market. The idea for Runbook came when I was working in the automotive industry and my partner, Rob, was a corporate financial consultant. We were employed at big businesses, and we saw firsthand the confusion, and occasional chaos, in the financial processes at our accounting departments. Everybody owned their separate excel sheets, so when they left, valuable knowledge flew out the door. What surprised u... s even more was that the CFO and the rest of the C-suite were almost never aware that company finances were barely held together with the equivalent of tape and string. That realization scared us. We saw a need that wasn’t being met and we knew we could make a change when legislation like Sarbanes-Oxley kicked in. We founded Runbook at an inspiring moment for financials, and now some of the biggest international corporations use our software for clear financials.
