ROCKFORD COLLEGE

Recognized as a “college with a conscience,” Rockford College is a small, residential school that doesn’t only offer high-ranking academics, but also encourages its students to effect change in their world. Located in Rockford, Illinois, Rockford’s curriculum is based in the liberal arts and sciences with bachelor’s degrees offered in such fields as Classical Studies, Education, English, Psychology, Religion and Theatre Arts. With a small student to faculty ratio, Rockford College provides an intimate learning environment and fosters individualized attention. This is an ideal environment to accomplish the Rockford goal, which is to educate men and women to effect change in their communities through activism and social change. Student life at Rockford is geared towards accomplishing the Rockford goal as well. Students have the chance to engage in community volunteer service or join organizations and clubs that will help instill leadership skills. However, since Rockford also acknowledges the importance of recreation, creative expression and social interaction, a number of the student life options give opportunities to perform, participate in sports or explore a hobby.
