Rite Taste has developed a graphene-based molecular diagnostics device that can detect allergens, pathogens, bacteria, and various proteins through the use of antibodies. Over 15 million Americans are allergic to common ingredients in food such as gluten, resulting in over 300,000 ambulatory care visits, 30,000 emergency room visits, and 130 deaths. To improve the purity of the food supply, Rite Taste has developed a new kind of allergen sensor for industry: a graphene-based, electro-immunoassay platform technology that can identify allergens faster, better and cheaper than existing tests for food allergens.
