Replicant is a free and open source operating system for Android smartphones and tablet computers, which aims to replace proprietary Android components with free software counterparts. The security-focused operating system closes all discovered Android backdoors. It is based on CyanogenMod and replaces or avoids every proprietary component of the system such as user-space programs, libraries, firmware, and more. Replicant does not ship nor recommend the use of non-free software.
