Promyco Diagnostics has developed a simple and non-invasive serology diagnostic kit for the detection of urogenital Mycoplasma infection, thus assessing women at risk of developing pregnancy complications. Unique characteristics of the bacteria, mainly antigenic variation, make it hard to develop an efficient serology diagnostic test. Promyco Diagnostics has overcome this obstacle and has developed a new assay based on an innovative and patent-protected mixture of mycoplasmal components (antigens). This antigen cocktail was carefully selected from Mycoplasmas isolated from patients with active inflammation, thus resulting in the first highly sensitive and specific serology test.
