OPTIMEDE
Optimede provides a single-use disposable, flexible endoscope to reduce infections that can occur during the 60 million endoscopies performed every year. Currently hospitals must sterilize equipment before each use and yet 130,000 patients are infected with the superbugs annually. In many cases, this results in death. Their single-use endoscopes are sterilized at the factory to avoid contamination. It reduces cleaning and labor costs. The product will be available for sale this year.
