NATIONAL SPACE CENTRE

National Space Centre Ltd provides world-class, carrier grade teleport facilities from Elfordstown Earthstation located near Middleton, Co Cork, in the South of Ireland, (lat/long 51 57.192N 8 10.55W). National Space Centre commenced an ambitious upgrade and expansion programme at Elfordstown Earthstation in early 2010 and commercial test broadcasts have now been successfully completed. Elfordstown Earthstation currently has four on-site antenna comprising a 32m C band antenna; 13.1m KA ba... nd antenna; 11m C band antenna and new 9.1m KA band antenna installed in August 2010. Phase 1 recommissioning of the 32m Standard A Antenna on site has commenced for use as a deep space radio astronomy facility in conjunction with Cork 29 Institute of Technology, operational from July 2011. National Space Centre provides a centre of excellence in satellite broadcast communications and in space related research. Services are available to facilitate ICT (Integrated Computer Technologies), GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment & Security), IOV (In Orbit Validation) and various FP7 and European framework programmes. National Space Centre is an independent teleport operator so Elfordstown can partner with any Government, large corporation, or multinational institution.More
