MýSKöPUN

Mýsköpun is an innovation company in north east site of Iceland established to promote economic activity and utilize internal resources at the area in a sustainable way. Main shareholders are the Skutustadahreppur Municipality where Mýsköpun is placed, Innovation center of Iceland, and Atvinnuþróunarfélag Þingeyinga (Development agency in Thyngeyjarsysla) along with various individuals, official agencies, private businesses, public organizations and private limited companies. The goal of Myskopun is to promote innovation and economic development, particularly in the field of biotechnology, including breeding and research on algae, bacteria and other microorganisms as potential sources of valuable products that can be used in local production of consumer goods.
