We founded Monos with these travellers in mind, because we are these travellers too. Our name is inspired by the Japanese concept of mono no aware – roughly translated as “the bittersweet poignancy of th... ings”. Like falling cherry blossoms, moments, experiences, and people drift in and out of your life – but it is their impermanence that makes them all the more beautiful. We believe that when we are present in the moment and mindful in our travels – when we are passionate wanderers – that is when the deeper beauty of the world reveals itself.
