The Company manages dental group practices in selected markets, presently including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Wisconsin and Arkansas. Dentists practicing at the Company's Dental Offices provide general dentistry services such as examinations, cleanings, fillings, bonding, placing crowns and fitting and placing fixed or removable prostheses. At many of the Company's Dental Offices, dentists also provide specialty dental services such as orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics and ... pediatric dentistry. The Company seeks to build geographically dense networks of dental providers by expanding within its existing markets and entering new markets through acquisition. At May 31, 1997, the Company owned and managed 67 Dental Offices, of which 16 were internally developed and 51 were acquired by the Company. At May 31, 1997, 123 full-time general dentists and 13 full-time specialists practiced at the Company's Dental Offices.
