The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (German: Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e. V.; abbreviated MPG) is a non-governmental and non-profit association of Research Institutes publicly funded by the federal and the state governments of Germany.
