The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is the official ruling body of the Kurdish region of Iraq that exercises executive power according to the Kurdistan Regionโ€™s laws as enacted by the Kurdistan Parliament. It administers the governorates of Erbil, Suleimaniah, and Dohuk. The KRG consists of various ministries and departments, including Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, Ministry of Culture and Youth, Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction,... Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Finance and the Economy. Iraqโ€™s Constitution recognizes the Kurdistan Regional Government as one of the formal institutions of the region. The Kurdistan Regional Government was formed in 1992 by the Kurdistan National Assembly and is headquartered in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region.
