HempRefine Oy signs cultivation contracts for fiber hemp, buys produced biomass and processes natural fibers into raw materials for biocomposites and building insulation. The woody part of the hemp, which is a side stream of natural fiber production, is processed into high quality animal dries and building materials. With its production, HempRefine Oy is responsible for the global growth of demand for natural fibers. In 2017, HempRefine Oy has fiber hemp cultures in approximately 20 locations, mainly located in Western and Eastern Finland. Growing the cultivated area gradually and aiming for a surface of 1,000 hectares by 2019.
