HARC conducts research on horticulture crops, including agronomy and plant nutrition, plant physiology, breeding, genetic engineering, and tissue culture, as well as disease and pest control using integrated pest management. In addition, they provide pesticide registration job training in areas such as pesticide application, environmental compliance, groundwater monitoring, and technical literature searches. They develop and demonstrate appropriate technologies in support of production agricultural research to promote rural community economic vitality through agriculture, provide training and rehabilitation projects for agricultural workers, and support agriculture in general by developing agribusiness opportunities.
