As part of that responsibility, GL&PS purchase wholesale power and energy from the Tennessee Valley Authority and resell wholesale power and energy to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. In its role as the electric division of the Greeneville Energy Authority, GL&PS is responsible for providing electric power, energy, and related services to approximately 38,000 meters within Greene County and in portions of the surrounding counties.
