The DAA exists to provide decision-makers with credible management information to promote improvements in accountability and stewardship in state and local government. The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts is one of the auditing organizations in the Southeast with nearly 260 team members. Its accounting department provides information to promote and improve accountability in state and local governments. The office conducts annual financial and compliance audits and reviews of state agencies, state and local educational entities, programs, and various other organizations that serve the public interest within the state of Georgia. The department also produces an annual report which documents the state's financial position and performance.
