Fort Peck Community College is a reservation-based community college in Poplar, Montana. Situated on the Fort Peck reservation, it offers members of the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes professional and academic degree and certificate programs in a community that fosters cultural commitment and awareness. Fort Peck awards associateโ€™s degrees in such fields as: * Business Administration * Computer Programming * Education * Human Services Students who wish to transfer to a four-year sc... hool may also obtain an academic degree in such subject as: * American Indian Studies * General Studies * Psychology Intensive, one-year training programs are also available and prepare students for careers in: * Automotive Technology * Building Trades * Business Assisting * Truck Driving * Welding In addition to professional skills, all classes also emphasize and nurture Indian heritage and culture. Fort Peck has an open admissions policy and, while it will accept anyone with a high school diploma or GED, it is primarily committed to educating those from tribal communities. In addition to these requirements, applicants must take a placement exam. Fort Peck only offers financial aid awards that do not need to be paid back. These include federal grants, work-study programs, a Bureau of Indian Affairs grant, and scholarships, such as the one from the American Indian College foundation. Fort Peck also provides veteranโ€™s benefits and tuition waivers to certain populations, including senior citizens and recent GED recipients.
