FOOD FORWARD
Food Forward is a volunteer powered grassroots group of Angelenos who care about reconnecting to our food system and making change around urban hunger. Food Forward is a successful nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles that forages fresh, local produce that would otherwise go to waste, connecting this food supply with nonprofit organizations that provide it to low-income people in need, including food banks, food kitchens and in-home meal providers. The $50,000 FreshWorks Fund grant is supporting Food Forward’s full-time expansion to Ventura County, an agriculturally rich area with a growing low-income population with limited access to healthy foods.
