The developers of the Finnish Finnay Wayfinder application have combined modern technology and corner shops in a mobile gift service designed for both private customers and businesses. The recently launched app has already created a buzz around the world. The service makes it easy to send, for example, a Christmas present to a godchild living in another country, because it allows the customer to send even large gifts without long delivery times and costly fees. Finnay is already available ... in Germany and the next goal is to take on the UK, Swedish and US markets. The sender selects a suitable gift and the delivery date in the Finnay online shop, after which the receiver is informed of the gift by SMS. The application then leads him or her to the shop where the wrapped gift is waiting together with a message from the sender. There is no risk of a shortage of gifts as Finnay’s co-operation partners are responsible for stocking items and producing services. The service also provides corner shops with a new distribution channel. — Instead of people having to find a gift, mail it and, in the worst case, having to pay expensive customs duties, they can find a gift with a few clicks, regardless of the recipient’s location, says Finnay’s CEO Riikka Lindström.More
