Evans Electric have designed a next generation axial flux induction motor for automotive applications. The AFIM uses a double stator, single rotor axial air gap architecture with a patented solid core, copper disc rotor. The AFIM is 30% the volume and 50% the weight of a comparable radial flux motor with the highest torque density at the lowest cost. Evans Electric have developed a fully integrated dual motor eAxle incorporating 2x independent axial flux motor each with an integrated planetary reducer and Silicon Carbide motor controller.
