The scientific research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) finally gave rise to a powerful idea: develop a novel monitoring system tailored to the needs of SMEs. The necessary hardware is compatible with common energy meters in companies and can be installed easily and quickly. The plant can then use web access to track all energy flows - electricity, heat, and gas - in real-time and identify potential savings in a short time. Innovative technology also intelligently monitors and controls the plants. For example, the ENIT AGENT itself decides how to generate or consume electricity most efficiently, depending on whether the sun is shining or whether many units need power at the same time.
