Empath was founded by Patrick Chiang, part of the original executive team behind Jawbone. The company is backed by Sean Parker who serv... es as an investor and board member. Empath has also assembled a team of toy industry and child development experts to aid them in their mission including Tom Kalinske (former CEO Mattel, Sega, Leapfrog), Don Kingsborough (Teddy Ruxpin, Lazertag) and Anne Cunningham (Leapfrog, University of California Berkeley).
