Typically, in order to study interior design, you have to enroll at a fine arts school. At Design Institute of San Diego, you have the benefit of a school with academics devoted exclusively to interior design. The institute’s only program is a BFA in Interior Design, and it keeps its enrollment around 500, so you’ll receive individualized instruction in an intimate learning environment. If you study full-time for two semesters per year, you can complete the program in four years. However, if you want to earn your degree sooner, the institute offers Fast Track scheduling that allows you to study year-round. In addition to the admissions application, the Design Institute of San Diego requires official high school transcripts, two professional references and a personal information form. You’ll have to participate in an initial admissions interview before you apply, then a follow-up to discuss your application.
