CREAFUND NV was established in March 1997 as an initiative of 10 mainly West-Flemish industrial entrepreneurs with a modest 2,5 mio €. of equity. Those same entrepreneurs, together with the management created in November 2001 the second fund, CREAFUND II CVA. Today CREAFUND II has become an Industrial Holding that invests for the longer term, with a solid position in the Belgian landscape of private equity. The Fund focusses on growth-financing of mature companies (in the capacity of man... agement, organization, financials,…) located at max. 300 km around Brussels representing an innovating product/technology and/or active in sectors that can give opportunities for consolidation as well as on smaller MBO/MBI-operations (Management Buy Out/Management Buy In) for amounts between 1 mio € and 5 mio €. Since 2001, CREAFUND II CVA has taken 12 equity stakes, of which 11 companies are still in portfolio today. It has an actual fund size of 40 mio € and counts 45 shareholders of which 40 are also involved in the first fund. The Board of Directors and the majority of the shareholders are entrepreneurs that have been successful in business (some of them more than once) converting the growth of their business into cash through stock exchange, acquisition or merger.More
