Coastar Therapeutics develops an erythrocyte enveloped virus delivery technology platform to perform repeated virus dosing. It evades recognition and attack by the immune system to address the challenges of systemic and repeated administration of drug therapies. Coastar's process technology and “red blood cell membranes only” enable the company to overcome the challenges of mass production and standardization, and has cost advantages. The company's first product targets oncolytic viruses and is developing ELCV solutions for other therapies. The company was founded in 2017 and is based in San Diego, CAlifornia.
