CECIL WHIG
Cecil Whig, founded on Aug. 7, 1841, was designed to promote Whig politics. Currently, the Whig is the oldest newspaper from Maryland's Eastern Shore to still publish under its original name, and one of the nation's oldest newspapers. Featuring articles on politics, agriculture, the useful arts, literature, and general intelligence, the Whig was published weekly in Elkton, Md., in a log cabin that had served as William Henry Harrison's campaign headquarters.
