Mr. Carr founded The Oliver Carr Company in 1962 and built it into the most active commercial development firm in DC. Then in 1993, the Carr Company became CarrAmerica, a NYSE-traded real e... state investment trust. In addition to being a leading owner and developer of commercial real estate, CarrAmerica was the largest owner and operator of business centers throughout the U.S. The company was sold in 2006 to affiliates of The Blackstone Group.
