The company was founded by Robert Levine and Craig Benson in 1983. With a rapidly growing customer base of over 45,000 and 1993 record sales revenues of over $418 million, Cabletron has developed from a small two-man firm that initially manufactured Ethernet cable assemblies to a leader in the field of network management and connective solutions.
