BooknBrunch, a first to market transaction based events platform with food menu integration is fighting loneliness one book and one meal at a time. 1 in 3 in people are lonely. The World Economic Forum recognizes loneliness as a risk factor - greater than smoking 15 cigarettes a day for our health. I watched as loneliness grew to depression in my sister (and co-founder). Then I watched as the foodie book club she started transformed her life and skyrocketed her out of depression. BooknBrunch is... a simple way to meet like minded people over a meal. BooknBrunch has three sides that all benefit: 1) Community. The Brookies – they buy tickets to the events. They love that each event is themed around a book. Books are the ultimate icebreaker. 2) Hosts. They plan events in minutes, and make money reading and eating. Hosts are literally getting paid to brunch (between $50 – $500 on average per brunch.) 3) Venues. Cafes, restaurants and even private spaces list their venue, upload their set menu including per plate cost and begin accepting group reservations. They love having a flexible profile they can change anytime, control over pricing and food costs – set menus are efficient and cost effective for big groups.
